You can now try on clothes and accessories virtually with Google
MANILA, Philippines – Google has officially launched its AI-powered Try On tool, allowing users to upload a photo of themselves and virtually see how clothing and accessories would fit.

A new era of online shopping
Google developed a custom image generation model for the Try On tool.
The model, while powered with AI, gives a realistic glimpse into how clothes would drape or fold with the image you provide.
According to Google, the technology understands how different materials behave on various body shapes and poses.
Rather than simply placing an image of clothing over a photo, the model generates a new image that accounts for folds, stretching, layering, and shadows.
This expands to not just tops, dresses, or jeans, but users can check out shoes, bags, as well as other accessories that can be paired.
Google envisioned a new approach to online shopping, where users can curate an outfit while having a visual guide before purchasing.

How to “Try on”
The Try On tool is available in Google Search, Google Shopping, and within Google Images.
Searching for a product for example, then heading to image, a new “Try it on” icon will appear.
The tool will prompt you to upload a full-length photo of yourself and the tool will generate the image with the clothing you’re trying to see. If the clothing or accessory has color options, this will appear as well for you to shift through.
You can also save and share the generated image.
One of the many new AI Google updates
The Try On tool is among the latest updates Google has announced in recent weeks.
Fresh from the I/O 2026, Google has launched numerous AI-powered programs, like the Gemini Omni and new features on Search.
Additionally, it’s gearing on releasing its smart glasses in the coming fall.
