MANILA, Philippines – Senate President Juan Ponce-Enrile said he would leave it up to the Supreme Court to resolve the issues on the controversial anti-cybercrime law but said they are not God not to commit mistakes.

“Ipaubaya natin sa Korte Suprema. Yan ang sistema natin e (Let’s leave it up to the Supreme Court. That’s our system),” Enrile said in a radio interview on Sunday.

“Hindi naman sinasabi na kami ay palaging tama. Hindi naman kami Diyos…Kung magkakamali ang executive, legislative, nandyan ang Korte Suprema na gagawa ng desisyon (We are not saying that we are always right. We are not God. If the executive, legislative commit mistakes, the Supreme Court is there to make a decision,’ he said.

Enrile said he was absent when the Senate approved the cybercrime law.

Besides, he said, he could not scrutinize all the bills that are being tackled in the Senate.

It should be the minority group, Enrile said, who should scrutinize the works of the majority bloc.
