WATCH: ‘The Sims’ is going mobile on Android, iOS
Popular people simulator “The Sims” is finally making its way to mobile devices. Now, gamers can carry out their sadistic god-tendencies in their pockets. All in good fun, of course.
“The Sims” is a life simulation game series that was first launched for PC back in 2000. Since then, the game continued to evolve and incorporate new features such as better AI for the Sims, as well as a more robust Sim creation system that lets players “Simify” just about anyone.
Article continues after this advertisementHow much of the current game iteration (The Sims 4+add-ons) will be carried over to the mobile version remains to be seen. However, looking at the trailer suggests that the game will have a fair amount of depth and content compared to its PC counterpart.
This is not the first time that producer Electronic Arts (EA) created a Sims game on another platform. The Sims Freeplay was released to Apple and Android phones in 2012. The Sims Social was a flash-based iteration for Facebook. However these earlier attempts lacked the depth that the upcoming The Sims Mobile appears to have.
For now, EA is happy to just tease the gaming community of the upcoming title. Information on a release date and pricing should be available later on. Alfred Bayle/JB
