Siri to get language translation feature in iOS 11
With Google steadily improving the Android Assistant, it puts some pressure on Apple to keep up and make Siri relevant as well as useful to its users.
During the annual Worldwide Developer Conference, which runs from June 5 to 9, Apple announced that Siri will be getting some additional features including spoken language translation, reports Engadget.

A few such functions are monitoring user web browsing and looking for other resources relevant to user interests. Users will also be able to ask Siri to play music for them on the recently announced Apple HomePod.
Siri will then be synchronized on all Apple devices so that users can enjoy the same functionality whether be it on an iPhone or a Mac. The company notes that the synchronized data will still be encrypted to protect customer privacy.
There are already a number of useful translation apps available on the App Store but a Siri that understands foreign languages would be a huge help to Apple users. And it would be really cool, too. Alfred Bayle/JB
