Elon Musk: AI will be smarter than humans in 2025
Humanity has been fantasizing for years about how technology will shape the future. Often, we depict these predictions in movies with artificial intelligence programs dominating every facet of life.
Many believe that this future is far beyond our lifetimes. However, Tesla CEO Elon Musk said that this vision may come next year.
“AI will probably be smarter than any single human next year. By 2029, AI is probably smarter than all humans combined,” the billionaire claimed.

The above statement was Elon Musk’s response to a clip from the Joe Rogan Experience podcast. It featured an interview with futurist Ray Kurzweil, who said:
“We’re not quite there, but we will be there, and by 2029 it will match any person. I’m actually considered conservative. People think that will happen next year or the year after.”
“I actually said that in 1999. I said we would match any person by 2029. So 30 years, people thought that was totally crazy.”

Musk shared these views last year during the first-ever AI Summit, which this Inqurier Tech article covered.
The SpaceX CEO told UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak that the technology could become “the most disruptive force in history.”
“We will have something that is, for the first time, smarter than the smartest human,” he claimed.
“It’s hard to say exactly what that moment is, but there will come a point where no job is needed.”
“You can have a job if you want to have a job for personal satisfaction. But the AI would be able to do everything,” Elon Musk added.

The British prime minister paused briefly before replying, “I don’t know if that makes people comfortable or uncomfortable.”
In response, he and the audience laughed nervously. Despite his views, Musk develops artificial intelligence projects, too.
He recently opened an AI firm named xAI, which released a chatbot called Grok.
