Everyone shows their desire to save the planet as climate change awareness becomes more popular worldwide. However, Earth needs more than our attention.

We must ensure companies do not release excessive amounts of greenhouse gases. Unfortunately, acquiring their emissions data can be difficult.

Yet, tech firms like Momentick use satellites and artificial intelligence to track gas emissions anywhere in the world in real time. As a result, they can help companies follow their climate goals.

What is Momentick?

Momentick is an environmental tech firm based in Tel Aviv, Israel. Daniel Kashmir, Lev Oren, and Dr. Ophir Almog co-founded it in 2022.

The official company website says, “Momentick is making a net-zero future a reality.”

The National Grid Group defines net zero as “the balance between the amount of greenhouse gas (GHG) that’s produced and the amount that’s removed from the atmosphere.”

In other words, the company wants to help the world reduce its carbon footprint to as low as possible.

The official Momentick website says it works by taking orbital and aerial climate data from the following sources:

  • Maxar WV3 satellite
  • Landsat satellites
  • Prisma satellites
  • EnMap satellites
  • Sentinel satellite
  • Airplanes
  • Drones

Then it uses artificial intelligence algorithms to detect and monitor greenhouse gas emissions in real time worldwide.

Also, these machines help Momentic provide real-time visual updates on specific locations. Momentick compiles these data over time to “verify regulatory compliance,  inform decision-making, and drive green energy projects.”

As a result, the private and public sectors can bolster their efforts for a better future climate. On April 18, 2024, the tech firm announced it raised $6.5 million in seed funding from TAU Ventures and Chartered Group Japan.

Momentick says it will use these investments to develop its emission intelligence algorithm and expand its market reach.

“Momentick’s mission is to provide a one-stop-shop emissions intelligence platform for countries, industries, and companies in order to demonstrate social responsibility and achieve their sustainability goals,” says Daniel Kashmir, CEO and co-founder of Momentick.

“The goal to reduce carbon footprint and achieve international climate targets underscores the urgency of methane emissions monitoring and reporting.”
