Gamers, go shopping: Steam Winter Sale starts December 22

One of the most awaited annual events for gamers is the Steam Winter Sale, a time when they can purchase titles on Steam at great discounts.

The announcement was initially made by PayPal last December 20. This will be the last big sale in 2016 for Steam. The last sale was back in Autumn which saw titles such as Dark Souls, Civilization 6, and Life is Strange get huge price drops, reports Polygon.

Aside from discounts, Valve will also open voting for the Steam Awards on December 22, 10AM PST (December 23, 2AM Philippine time). This will last until December 29, with visitors being given 24 hours to vote on a new category. The results will be announced on New Year’s Eve.

The first category up for voting is the “Villain Most In Need Of A Hug” award – well, some people just need a hug. Below are the list of finalists:

-Borderlands 2
-Dead by Daylight
-Far Cry 3
-Far Cry 4
-Portal 2
