WATCH: Programmers create some of the worst volume control sliders

/ 02:26 PM June 18, 2017

When programmers get bored from the usual coding routine, what do they do? Apparently they try to outdo each other in making the worst volume control slider.

Programmers on Reddit have started a thread under the ProgrammerHumor subreddit where they post some of the worst-made volume control sliders ever seen.

While some appear somewhat cute, like the Snake volume slider by Reddit user Jaeyuuji, others are just far too inconvenient, like this physics-based design by user dllu.

This design by theillini19 asks you to get the volume of a shape to adjust the volume level.

User nanimatus_conjurus even created a specialized glove for his volume control needs. However, his volume glove may actually have some application on virtual reality.

Apparently, machine learning was also used to create this automated volume control by user Cry4Wolfe. Except no one will ever be able to change the volume level again.

This design from user omgmog requires a polygon to be drawn to increase volume levels to 100 percent.

More ideas will likely be posted on the thread for as long as programmers have time to kill. JB
