“Overwatch’s” Pink Mercy character skin raised over $10 million to help fund breast cancer research.

The Pink Mercy, a character skin for “Overwatch’s” beloved and equally loathed healer, was designed by community artist VICKISIGH. It currently stands as the  first and so far only paid character skin for the game. Pink Mercy also spearheaded a donation campaign to raise funds for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF).

The campaign began on May 8 and ran until May 21. During this period, “Overwatch” players could purchase the limited-edition Pink Mercy skin for $15 (about P800) and the earnings were to go to the BCRF. A special edition Pink Mercy T-shirts were also sold at $30 (around P1,600) each during the campaign period. At the end of the two-week campaign period, the Overwatch community managed to raise $12.7 million (around P678 million) to fund breast cancer research, according to a statement.
