WATCH: Diaper-wearing monkey scuffles with grocery employee
A pet monkey wearing a disposable baby diaper attacked a grocery employee at a Walmart car park in Lancaster, Ohio, USA, on Sunday.
In a viral video taken by Facebook user Richelle Stewart, the man was seen struggling to escape from the unruly primate near Walmart’s shopping cart area. The clip, which got 400,000 views, made social media users burst into laughter, as well as anger.
When the man got close to the monkey, it leaped from the metal railing to grab him by the arm and shirt. A random woman, presumably the monkey’s master, was heard screaming, “Let him go, let him go, let him go! If he bites you, they will put him down.”
The owner dragged its menace pet away from the scene.
“I saw the monkey and he was just standing on the carts,” Stewart told the local channel NBC4. “The monkey had escaped from a nearby camper. And we saw the cart guy from Walmart coming over to help her.” A spokesperson told the news channel that the employee was not harmed. When the monkey escaped from its owner, the employee got its leash and handed it to her.
Local authorities were investigating if the primate was legally adopted by its owner. Gianna Francesca Catolico
