CAAP: Samsung Galaxy Note 7 prohibited in airports, planes

Now it can’t even be brought inside airports.
Following reported cases of exploding batteries and being fire hazards, the government regulatory body ensuring safe air travel issued a circular for a total ban on Samsung Galaxy Note 7.
The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP), through acting Director General Jim Sydiongco, has issued Memorandum Circular No. 34-16 prohibiting Galaxy Note 7 smartphones in airports and both commercial and cargo flights.
Dated October 13, the circular said: All carriage of Samsung Galaxy Note 7 devices are forbidden in airport premises, on-board the aircraft and cargo flights. Moreover, all operators are hereby advised to strictly implement this memorandum circular.
An earlier memorandum has been issued by CAAP. In September, it has issued an advisory calling on airline operators to prohibit passengers from using the Galaxy Note 7 in airport premises and inside the planes.
Samsung has offered to replace Galaxy Note 7 devices bought before September 15 but CAAP’s directive still covers all units.
Cebu Pacific, Philippine Airlines and Singapore Airlines, among others, have banned the use of Samsung Galaxy Note 7 during flights. TVJ
