Acer goes to the rescue of small businesses

MANILA, Philippines--PC server products are getting more affordable, even allowing small-to-medium businesses (SMBs) to maximize their potential by automating business processes.

Taiwan consumer electronics maker Acer recently introduced server products that would cater to the needs of small businesses.

The Acer Tower Servers AT 110, AT310, AT150 and AT350 are scalable systems that feature storage expansion capabilities and efficient cooling technology.

The starting price for these servers, without operating systems, is P29,900.

Acer officials said the new servers would be ideal for back-office applications, Web hosting, File and Web services of small companies.

The entry-level Acer AT110 Tower Server already features Intel quad-core processors, four DDR2 800 ECC DIMMs and is capable of holding up to four 3.5-inch SATA hard drives.

The Acer AT310 is another ideal server type for small enterprises.

It is a powerful, single-socket tower servers that contains four hot-swappable hard drives, six DDR3 ECC DIMMs, a 450W 80-plus Bronze-level fixed power supply and Smart Server Management software for remote management.

The Acer AT150 Tower Server boasts of a much larger capability, with two sockets supporting the latest Intel Xeon CPUs, 12 DIMMs, support for eight 2.5-inch or four 3.5-inch SAS/SATA hot-pluggable hard disk drives for total customization.

The Acer AT350 server represents Acer?s vision in terms of expandability. It has two sockets that support the latest Intel Xeon CPUs, forward support, a whopping 18 DIMMs total, and support for eight 3.5-inch or sixteen 2.5-inch hard drives.
